Job summary

Ironmark Building Co. is looking for a commercial construction Superintendent to join our team and lead a major project in Flagstaff, AZ. You’ll oversee field activities, budget, and schedule while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, travel as needed, and collaboration with owners, architects, and officials to maintain project integrity and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years Superintendent experience in ground up, wood frame, commercial construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of preferred construction management software: Microsoft Project and Procore.
• OSHA Training, CPR/First Aid Certification, and LEED training encouraged.
• Maintain a clean and presentable appearance with Ironmark apparel recommended at all times.
• Excellent leadership skills and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute the project plan as laid out by the Project Manager and yourself.
• Coordinate all site construction activities and supervise field personnel to complete the project on schedule and on budget.
• Supervise, direct, coach, and train Assistant Superintendents, Ironmark’s General Laborers, and Field Interns.
• Create site specific plans and procedures that adhere to safety and record keeping requirements.
• Develop and refine a computerized project schedule with the Project Manager to meet dates.
• Prepare work orders and field change orders and provide daily reports for all projects.
• Coordinate, direct, and monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure safety compliance.
• Inspect subcontractors' activities for safety regulation compliance and contractual requirements.

The Superintendent will lead and manage all field construction activities on a major project located in Flagstaff, AZ. You’ll be responsible for all field aspects of the project’s budget, schedule, and general performance. This position may require candidate to travel to project locations as they arise in the future.

What you’ll do:

The successful Lead Superintendent will communicate and interact with owners, architects, engineers, government officials, and the public in a clear, concise, and professional manner. The Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and on budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, and managing exemplary construction safety practices for all on-site activities. You will create and maintain positive, professional, and respectful relationships and maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized job site at all times.

Your duties will include:

• Develop, maintain, and execute the project plan as laid out by the Project Manager and yourself.
• Ensure a complete knowledge and understanding of all contract drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs (requests for information), and any other job-related contracts and information for each project.
• Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.
• Supervise, direct, coach, and train Assistant Superintendents, Ironmark’s General Laborers, and Field Interns.
• Create site specific plans and procedures that adhere to safety and record keeping requirements and Ironmark’s Safety Program to ensure a safe work environment.
• Obtain necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, municipal/provincial authorities, and owners.
• Maintain (1) set of complete, up-to-date drawings, including RFIs, etc., on jobsite for Ironmark use and architect/client meetings.
• Manage job site setup and startup processes to include safety posting and procedures, security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
• Develop and refine a computerized project schedule, working in conjunction with the Project Manager to confirm schedules are properly updated to meet various dates required and/or maintain accountability for delays.
• Prepare work orders and field change orders and provide daily reports for all projects.
• Coordinate, direct, and monitor subcontractor schedules via email and verbally.
• Inspect and oversee the activities of the subcontractors for safety regulation compliance and completion of their contractual requirements.
• Supervise receipt of supplies and all other onsite labor for safety, quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
• Prepare and communicate RFIs with architects, engineers, etc.
