Job summary

Rockford is seeking a Construction Superintendent in Detroit to oversee field operations on assigned projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and strong field leadership. You will supervise labor, trade contractors and craft workers, promote safety and teamwork, read blueprints, and mentor staff to grow professionally across residential and commercial builds.

This role requires clear communication, logistical planning, and a hands-on approach to problem solving in a dynamic construction

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Construction Management or years of equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of managing residential and commercial projects.
• Been the lead or part in managing construction projects.
• Ability to manage logistical and mentally complex jobs.

About This Opportunity

Are you looking to utilize your years of experience in the construction industry? Look no further! Rockford is currently searching for a Superintendent to oversee our dynamic projects.

The Superintendent position at Rockford will manage all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion. Our Superintendents directly supervise processes and field labor force, including but not limited to laborers, trade contractors, field engineers, and craft workers. As a Superintendent you must be a strong leader, communicator, and advocate for team collaboration, safety, and innovation, and must have the ability to lead, manage, cultivate and mentor team members to promote their professional growth. This position must demonstrate organizational and time management skills, as well as have robust communication and client service skills.

• Bachelors in Construction Management or years of equivalent experience
• Knowledge and understanding of managing residential and commercial projects
• Been the lead or played a part in managing construction projects
• Must have demonstrated the ability to manage logistical and mentally complex jobs.
• Certifications in First Aid/CPR.
• OSHA training.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints and floor plans.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Bonus Skills & Experience:

Type of Environment

This position’s work environment may expose the individual to hazards typically found on construction sites. Potential physical hazards include noise, the presence of moving vehicles, challenging atmospheric conditions, confined spaces, uneven surfaces, and elevated areas. The individual may also encounter outdoor environmental conditions (weather) where protective measures may not be feasible. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times while outside the job trailer. Additionally, the work environment for this role may involve occasional visits to the corporate office and job site trailer, with physical demands necessitating the ability to sit for extended periods.
