Job summary

Dobco, a leading New Jersey general contractor with over 35 years of experience, seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on public works projects statewide.

You will lead subcontractors, coordinate site activities, maintain schedules, enforce safety standards and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Compensation ranges from $130,000 to $190,000 with 100% employer-paid medical coverage and annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Construction Superintendent managing commercial or public works construction projects.
• Experience with K-12 schools, higher education, municipal buildings, courthouses, libraries, government facilities, or similar projects preferred.
• Experience managing projects valued at $30 million or greater preferred.
• Strong understanding of ground-up construction, renovations, additions, and complex building systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction operations from mobilization through project completion and turnover.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses according to established milestones.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor safety, quality, and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, building codes, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to identify and resolve field issues.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, inspections, and subcontractor sequencing.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, safety documentation, and project records.
• Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
• Lead project closeout activities, including inspections, punch lists, and turnover.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team and oversee field operations on public works projects throughout New Jersey.

Position Summary

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing all daily field operations for assigned public works construction projects. This individual will lead subcontractors, coordinate site activities, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
