Job summary

Lone Mountain Land Company in Big Sky, MT seeks a Construction Superintendent to lead daily field operations from pre-construction through completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure work meets plans, specs and quality expectations.

You will mentor field staff, collaborate with project management, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to keep projects on time and within budget across Southwest Montana.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Superintendent experience managing projects >$5,000,000.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, Procore, and Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 30 certified or able to become certified prior to commencing work.
  • Telehandler certification or able to obtain prior to starting work.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, specs, and building codes.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Lone Mountain Land Company (“LMLC”) is a subsidiary of CrossHarbor Capital Partners ($8.7B AUM) and is responsible for executing several long-term real estate development strategies in Southwest Montana. Big Sky has emerged as the most successful and rapidly growing resort development in the United States. CrossHarbor owns three private residential communities in Big Sky (Yellowstone Club, Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, and Moonlight Basin), several mixed-use buildings and a hotel in downtown Big Sky (“Town Center”) and created a separate investment fund dedicated to developing and acquiring workforce housing. LMLC manages all investments, development, and operations in Southwest Montana on behalf of CrossHarbor. Over time, LMLC may also undertake development projects in other areas of the United States or abroad.

Position Summary

The Construction Superintendent role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations for assigned construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel while maintaining strong communication with project management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and site activities to ensure project schedules are maintained.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues and delays.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate project schedules to ensure work is properly planned, coordinated, and completed on time.
  • Identify and communicate potential schedule impacts, change orders, and construction conflicts.
  • Mentor and support field staff, project engineers, and labor personnel.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and sequencing of materials to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Lead and participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and site walks.
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with local jurisdictions and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project records.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and labor resources are available and effectively utilized.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and site-related discussions.

  • Proficiency in project management software and reporting tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated success delivering projects within budget and schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license.
