Job summary

Modern Contractors Inc. in Bedford, TX seeks an experienced construction professional to lead projects from start to finish. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage scope, ensure safety, and deliver on time and within budget.

Candidates should have General Contracting knowledge and 5–10 years of construction experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills and a valid driver's license. Drug test and background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Manager, customers, and crews to understand project scope and requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure scope compliance.
• Identify problems outside the scope and address with the team.
• Provide daily and weekly written reports to the Project Manager.
• Ensure materials are on site on time to maintain schedule.
• Schedule crews to meet project schedule.
• Ensure each team member adheres to quality standards and company policies.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers/vendors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; rectify hazards promptly.
• Demonstrate professionalism, selling style, and appearance.
• Work independently to meet or exceed goals.
• Plan, communicate, and manage time effectively.
• Complete projects on time and under budget.

Reports To: Project Manager/Director of Construction

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Effective communication with Project Manager, customers, and crews to ensure a complete understanding of the scope of projects
• Coordinate subcontractors as needed and ensure they are fully executing and complying with the scope of work
• Ability to recognize problems outside of scope and effectively address with the team
• Provide detailed written daily and weekly reports to Project Manager
• Ensure all materials needed are on site on time in order to maintain a schedule
• Ability to schedule crews to meet project schedule
• Ensure that each team member is aware of quality standards and company policies and ensure the quality of workmanship from the crew
• Create and maintain positive relationships with employees, customers, suppliers/vendors, and subcontractors
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Identify and rectify job hazards on an immediate basis
• Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and vendors
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals

Minimum Qualifications

• Five (5) to ten (10) years of construction experience
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must valid and active driver’s license
• Experience with Municipal Construction/K-12 Construction

Pay Range

$90,000-120,000 Base + Truck Allowance + EOY Bonus
