Construction Superintendent responsible for managing and overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site construction activities, including managing subcontractors, foremen, and other field personnel.
- Help develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and manage project budgets.
- Ensure that work meets quality standards, building codes and conforms to plans and specifications.
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures on the job site.
- Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process.
- Communicate effectively with superintendent, project manager, clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, redlines and other project documentation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Technical training, college degree or 5 years of carpentry experience in similar leadership position.
- Technical expertise: Ability to lead and motivate a team of subcontractors and crews; manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently; extensive experience in construction managements with ability to interpret building codes, plans, specifications; strong understanding of construction concepts, practices, procedures; math skills; analytical skills; ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively; computer skills; familiarity with construction software (e.g., PROCORE).
