Job summary

C&S Companies in Orange County seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent for project-based work to oversee trades and manage vertical construction.

The ideal candidate will lead subcontractors, coordinate planning, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while collaborating with design professionals and clients on complex projects; travel within Southern or Northern California may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience for a General Contracting firm in the field.
• Experience with PEMB, Conventional steel buildings, Commercial class A Construction.
• Experience with Orange County permitting jurisdictions is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specs.
• Procore project management software experience is a plus.
• Associate's degree or higher in Construction or related field is a plus.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Must understand the importance of safety and quality on a job site.
• Submittal review and shop drawing review experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trades and manage general vertical construction on project sites.
• Direct sub-contractors and other construction personnel per contract, schedule, and budget.
• Plan, coordinate, and safely execute work in accordance with contract documents and schedules.
• Interact with design professionals, consultants, and clients on project needs.
• Fulfill integral role on each project with General Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Travel to other locations within Southern or Northern California as required.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for a project-based position within Orange County to oversee trades and manage general new build vertical construction.

The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, consultants, and clients. Responsibilities include directing sub-contractors and other construction related personnel, planning, coordinating, and safely executing work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. This individual will work closely with General Superintendent, Project Manager and fulfill an integral role on each assigned project. Following this project this position may require travel to other locations within Southern or Northern California.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 10 years' experience for a General Contracting firm in the field
• Experience working with Orange County permitting jurisdictions is a plus
• Experience with PEMB, Conventional steel buildings, Commercial class A Construction, and large concrete production
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specs
• Must be functional at computer use as a means for communication (Word, Excel, Project)
• Associate's degree or higher in Construction or related technical field is a plus
• Procore project management software (or similar software) experience is a plus
• Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Must understand the importance of safety and quality on a job site
• Submittal review and shop drawing review experience

Estimated Base Compensation Range: $135,000 -$155,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
