Job summary

F.A. Wilhelm Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead project startup, planning, and closeout. The role requires coordination with project managers, operations, and superintendent teams, plus oversight of design interpretation, documentation, and cost control.

Procore experience is a plus, and LEED documentation may be required on some projects. Ideal candidates bring a bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or 1–4 years of related work experience, strong

Qualifications

• BS degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of construction processes and project controls.
• Experience coordinating design and field teams, and using Procore is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start up and coordinate projects with PMs, Ops, and Superintendent.
• Review drawings, codes, and provide resolution of conflicts and interpretation issues.
• Distribute design documents to team and subcontractors.
• Prepare LEED documentation as applicable and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate RFIs, change notices, and material logistics; review BOMs.
• Maintain schedules, attend meetings, and distribute minutes.
• Assist in cost control and billing reconciliation.
• Prepare contract drawings, submittals, and project databases.
• Serve as liaison between office and field; support closeout and as-builts.

Responsibilities

• Project Start Up
• Plan and coordinate project in conjunction with the Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendent
• Project support through research, interpretation, codes, conflicts, interference, and errors.
• Reviews design drawings, vendor drawings and installation instructions and researches and resolves drawing interpretation problems, applicable codes, conflicts, interference, and errors.
• Distribute copy of design drawings and documents to project team and subcontractors.
• Prepare and maintain LEED reporting and/or documentation requirements of the LEED Action Plan (if applicable)
• Project Build
• Assist and coordinate RFIs, change notices, extra work orders, and vendor materials, and reviews project design and engineering bills of material to ensure their completeness.
• Coordinate and resolve engineering and construction problems, assist in project schedule maintenance, and attend meetings, prepare and distribute minutes.
• Implement cost controls and the reconciliation of billings.
• Maintain, prepare, and verify contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, project database(s), reports, quality control activities & documents, project estimates and costs.
• Communication liaison between the office, field, entire project team.
• Project Closeout
• Assist project close-out by developing and completing close-out documentation.
• Maintain and complete As-Builts.
• Manage punch list process.

What It Takes

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field or 1-4 years of related work experience or a combination of both.
• Knowledgeable of Construction processes.
• Proven computer platform experience. Procore a plus.
