Job summary

F.A. Wilhelm Construction seeks a Sr. Project Engineer to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

You will lead project startup, schedule development, and cross-functional coordination with project managers, superintendents, and operations managers to keep projects on track. You will drive documentation, cost controls, and close-out activities while maintaining As-Builts and ensuring quality control across subcontractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field or 1-4 years of related work experience.
• Knowledgeable of Construction processes.
• Proven computer platform experience; Procore a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project Start Up and plan coordination with Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendent.
• Initiate and maintain project schedules and lifecycle.
• Assist and coordinate RIFs, change notices, and vendor materials.
• Manage material expediting, delivery and storage.
• Coordinate and resolve engineering and construction problems; attend meetings and distribute minutes.
• Implement cost controls and reconcile billings.
• Maintain and verify contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, project databases, reports, and cost estimates.
• Communication liaison between office, field, and project team.
• Assist project close-out and complete close-out documentation.
• Maintain As-Builts and manage punch list process.

Responsibilities

• Project Start Up
• Plan and coordinate project in conjunction with the Project Managers, Operations Managers, and Superintendent
• Project support through research, interpretation, codes, conflicts, interference, and errors.
• Initiate and maintain project schedule(s) and project-plan lifecycle.
• Project Build
• Assist and coordinate RIFs, change notices, and vendor materials.
• Manage material expediting, delivery & storage.
• Coordinate and resolve engineering and construction problems, schedule & attend meetings, prepare and distribute minutes.
• Implement cost controls and the reconciliation of billings.
• Maintain, prepare, and verify contract drawings, shop drawings, submittals, project database(s), reports, quality control activities & documents, project estimates and costs.
• Communication liaison between the office, field, entire project team.
• Project Closeout
• Assist project close-out by developing and completing close-out documentation.
• Maintain and complete As-Builts.
• Manage punch list process.

What It Takes

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field or 1-4 years of related work experience or a combination of both.
• Knowledgeable of Construction processes.
