Job summary

Atlantic Testing Laboratories, Limited is seeking experienced Construction Special Inspectors to join their team in New York. This role offers a blend of fieldwork and office assignments, along with professional growth, competitive pay, and a variety of daily tasks.

Successful candidates will provide special inspection services, perform testing and inspections, follow safety standards, and prepare reports. Desired qualifications include certifications such as ACI, ICC, and a valid NY driver's license.

Qualifications

• Desire any of the following certifications: ACI, ICC, PCI, CWI, NETTCP, NYSDOT DTI.
• Enjoy working outdoors in a hands-on environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide Special Inspection services in accordance with the Building Code of NYS.
• Perform quality sampling, testing, and inspection of materials on construction sites.
• Prepare accurate test and inspection reports.

Skills

Valid New York State driver's license

Basic math skills

Good communication skills

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Construction Special Inspector Qualifications

• Desire any of the following certifications with related experience: ACI, ICC, PCI, CWI, NETTCP, NYSDOT DTI, NYSDOT PCC, NYSDOT QC/QA and NICET
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Basic math and good communication skills
• Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license
• Positive attitude, with ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Enjoying working outdoors in a hands‑on environment

Construction Special Inspector Responsibilities

• Provide Special Inspection services in accordance with the Building Code of NYS
• Perform quality sampling, testing and inspection of soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt materials on construction sites and in laboratory settings
• Follow safety standards and procedures
• Prepare accurate test and inspection reports using electronic report templates
• Effectively communicate with clients and other project stakeholders
