CME Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Special Inspector to perform essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects in the Greater Buffalo, NY area.

You will read drawings, interpret results, and report clearly to managers as part of a team delivering quality construction oversight. The role requires a HS diploma (degree preferred) and applicable ICC or ACI certifications, plus a valid driver's license; compensation ranges per hour with benefits for

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.
• Must possess at least one ICC Certification for a Special Inspector Category: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more.
• Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
• Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate established standards.
• Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner.
• Communicate regularly with project managers.
• Complete field data records and associated reports daily.
• Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC).

Compensation: $23 - 32 / hour
