Johnson Controls is seeking a Site Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for low voltage and fire alarm projects across the United States. This role requires leading field teams, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety, schedules, and scope compliance on multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in low voltage construction, strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with NFPA 72 and NEC.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in low voltage construction or electrical systems
  • Proven experience supervising field operations on commercial sites
  • Fire alarm installation/commissioning experience preferred
  • Strong reading of blueprints, schematics, and technical docs

Responsabilités

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations on low voltage and fire alarm projects across US
  • Supervise onsite teams, subs, and vendors for proper installation and execution
  • Review plans, specs, and schedules for compliance and issues
  • Ensure work meets NEC/NFPA 72 and local codes
  • Maintain safety standards and enforce policies on all sites
  • Coordinate with PMs, GC, inspectors, and clients
  • Conduct site walkthroughs, inspections, and quality checks
  • Track labor, materials, and progress against timelines
  • Provide daily/weekly project status updates
  • Assist in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting systems
  • Support project closeouts with doc- and punch-list handling

What you will do
  • The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day field operations of low voltage and fire alarm construction projects across various job sites within the United States. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with all applicable codes and company standards. Fire alarm system experience is strongly preferred. This position requires frequent travel and the ability to lead teams across multiple project locations.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure compliance and identify potential issues
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, NFPA (especially NFPA 72), local codes, and client specifications
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and enforce company safety policies on all job sites
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and clients
  • Conduct site walkthroughs, inspections, and quality control checks
  • Resolve field-related issues, conflicts, and scheduling challenges proactivelyTrack labor productivity, materials, and progress against project timelines
  • Provide daily/weekly reporting on project status, manpower, and milestones
  • Assist in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting systems, particularly fire alarm systems
  • Support project closeouts, including documentation, punch lists, and inspections
How you will do it

What we look for
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in low voltage construction or electrical systems
  • Proven experience supervising field operations or crews on commercial construction sites
  • Fire alarm installation and commissioning experience strongly preferred
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire alarm systems (NFPA 72), electrical codes (NEC), and low voltage systems
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with testing, inspection, and commissioning processes
Certifications (Preferred):
  • NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems)
  • OSHA 30
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, etc.)

HIRING SALARY RANGE:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $69,000- 101,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
