Job summary

SVM seeks a Safety Officer to support a mechanical construction project in Nevada, serving as the safety lead from start to finish. You will conduct field inspections, ensure OSHA compliance, and drive safety training for teams on site.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in safety or related field, 5+ years in construction safety, and a valid driver’s license. A strong safety mindset and collaboration with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar; highly preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Safety Officer in construction; required.
• OSHA 30 certification highly preferred; CHST/ASP/CSP/OSHA 510/OSHA 500 a plus.
• Experience interpreting federal, state, and customer regulations is a must.
• Strong knowledge of fall protection, cranes, scaffolding, PPE and related safety areas.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software.
• Valid driver’s license and DMV check required.
• Willing to undergo a comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Be the dedicated safety representative for a mechanical construction project.
• Conduct daily inspections and safety observations to identify hazards.
• Monitor OSHA compliance and site safety plans.
• Document visits, inspections, corrective actions, and safety activities.
• Provide coaching on safe work practices and safety expectations.
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety trainings.
