Job summary

Berkel & Company Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs across Maryland region. You will work with the Superintendent and Project Manager to enforce safety policies and drive adherence to safety planning goals across multiple sites.

The role requires 3–5 years of construction safety experience, OSHA Outreach Trainer credentials, and strong ability to coordinate with diverse teams and external partners. Occasional travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of work experience in Construction Health and Safety.
• OSHA Outreach Trainer for Construction Industry.
• CHST preferred.
• Knowledge of drilling operations and/or shoring work preferred.
• Strong planning, problem solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, communicate, enforce, and identify opportunities for Site Specific Safety Program improvements.
• Coordinate subcontractors pre-construction safety planning meetings.
• Review Site-Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analysis prior to mobilization.
• Conduct site evaluations and track corrections and deficiencies.
• Perform root cause and incident investigations with documentation.
• Coordinate with Risk Manager on claims trends and proactive risk management.
• Oversee training such as OSHA 10/30 and other safety topics.
