Job summary

The Perry Group, Ltd., a CDM Smith company, is seeking a Health & Safety Professional 1 to plan and implement safety programs for construction sites in Baton Rouge, LA. This role collaborates with the construction lead to ensure onsite personnel follow safety standards and policies across company, client, and subcontractor teams.

Work is performed under general supervision on projects of varying complexity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience in Safety Management or related.
• OSHA30 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall health and safety direction on assigned projects sites.
• Administers safety policies, training, and site safety plans.
• Documents and investigates accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Conducts daily site inspections and uses safety checklists.
• Prepares monthly safety reports and coordinates orientations.
• Leads site safety orientations for contractors and personnel.
• Collaborates on development of site-specific safety plan (SSSP).
