Job summary

UEC in Denver offers an internship to support Merrick’s construction services team on active projects. Interns will assist with field reports, progress tracking, and documenting contractor activities and field conditions, while following safety guidelines on active sites.

The role provides hands‑on exposure to water, wastewater, civil infrastructure, and coordinating with project teams. Experience with documentation tools and a willingness to learn through mentorship are valued.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or graduate program.
• Junior year or higher in undergraduate program or enrolled in graduate school.
• Pursuing Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with availability for internship.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work outdoors on active construction sites and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Support construction services team on active projects in roles including owner’s representative, construction management, and field observation.
• Assist with daily field reports, photo documentation, progress tracking, and contractor activity documentation.
• Follow safety requirements on sites and ensure conformance with drawings, specs, permits, and owner requirements.
• Help track RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, field issues, punch lists, and change-related items.
• Document installed quantities, progress, and information supporting pay applications and project status.
• Participate in site walks, progress meetings, and coordination discussions with Merrick staff, contractors, owners, designers, and consultants.
• Assist with quality assurance documentation and coordination of materials testing.
