Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Labor Foreman to supervise daily work of unskilled crews on the jobsite, assist with manpower planning and report worker time for payroll. The role requires adherence to safety policies, conducting safety meetings, and working at elevated heights when required.

Candidates should have strong communication, interpersonal skills, knowledge of OSHA rules, and ability to lift up to 70 lbs; familiar with tools and materials used in commercial construction.

Qualifications

• 3 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Current knowledge and ability to apply relevant local, state and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to work at elevated heights.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work of unskilled employees on the jobsite.
• Assists Superintendent and/or Foreman with planning manpower levels.
• Reports employee time for payroll.
• Supervises daily work and conducts safety meetings with assigned crew.
• May operate jobsite equipment.
• Follows and enforces company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
• May be required to work at elevated heights.
• Will be performing tasks involving physical labor construction projects.
• Must have knowledge of tools and materials used in commercial construction.
• May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris.
• Position may require working in all weather conditions; prolonged bending, squatting or standing and lifting.
• Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
