Ameren Missouri is hiring a Contractor Services Supervisor to oversee vendor-based electric and civil construction crews, ensuring adherence to contracts, safety rules, and quality standards. The role includes planning input, budgeting, and coordination with customers and internal teams.

The position requires 5+ years in electric transmission/distribution or equivalent heavy industry, with supervisory experience and preferred journeyman qualifications. Travel and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management related discipline preferred
• Five or more years of relevant experience in electric transmission or electric distribution required, OR five+ years in heavy industrial/military with supervisor role
• Journeyman line or journeyman substation experience preferred
• Utility experience preferred
• Supervisory or contractor leadership experience preferred
• Experience with Renewable Development projects preferred

Contractor Services Supervisor

The Contractor Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the vendor-based distribution-related electric and civil construction and support crews, the management of their work in accordance with applicable contracts and agreements, and investigation and resolution of customer complaints. Additionally, they are responsible to assure that vendor's field supervision enforces all applicable Ameren policy, practices and safety rules.

• Provide input to project planning and design.
• Manage and evaluate contractor crews engaged in the construction, maintenance and inspection of the electric system.
• Provide clear expectations for contractor performance to include safety and quality through observations and audits.
• Maintain regular contact with contractor supervisory personnel to assess manpower, equipment, tools and material needs for specific projects.
• Schedule, assign, and manage the work in a safe, efficient, and effective manner in accordance with the applicable contracts and agreements.
• Monitor and control project budget and schedules to insure that the proper resources are allocated so that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Provide budgetary cost tracking documentation and construction timeline schedules.
• Document project scope changes and provide project updates to the project team as required.
• Coordinate activities with customers, contractors, external stakeholders and other company departments.
• Consistently enforce all WPA and safety rules and conduct Safety Observations with individuals and crews.
• Consistently enforce appropriate corporate policies with contractor crews as required.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of department and function goals.
• Identify and implement improvements in department operations to control costs and improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management related discipline preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in electric transmission or electric distribution required, OR Five or more years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial or military environment including a minimum of three years in a supervisor role required.
• Journeyman line or journeyman substation experience preferred.
• Utility experience preferred.
• Supervisory or team/contractor leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with Renewable Development projects preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

• The Contractor Services Supervisor’s work environment includes office and field.
• Overnight travel may be required, for multiple days per week, depending on location of construction projects.
• Subject to call-out and overtime as required for emergency storm restoration and project work.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer skills, proficiency with mobile devices, and proficiency with project construction schedules required.
• Strong leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills preferred.
• Must be adaptable and flexible.
• Project and/or Construction Management skills preferred.
• Basic knowledge of APImaging, CCTM, TRIS, OAS, DOJM, and ArcGIS, systems preferred.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $88,500.00 - $137,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
