Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Construction Scheduler to work with a key biotechnology client on a large‑scale facilities expansion program in South San Francisco. The role will act as a Scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a major biotechnology client’s portfolio, which includes approximately 20 active projects overseen by 6 Project Managers. You will provide expert scheduling guidance to Project Managers, ensure vendor schedules are thoroughly quality‑checked, approve schedule‑related change orders, and monitor the overall health of the portfolio. The Portfolio/Project Scheduler will also collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop and manage integrated project schedules, participate in OAC (Owner‑Architect‑Contractor) meetings and schedule reviews, perform quality checks on vendor schedules, conduct site visits as needed, and generate schedule reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project scheduling, excellent analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our client's construction project portfolio, offering expert guidance and support to Project Managers to ensure effective scheduling and planning.
  • Review and validate the quality and accuracy of vendor schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Review and approve change orders related to schedule adjustments, ensuring all modifications are documented and accurately represented in the project timeline.
  • Regularly assess the overall health of the portfolio, identifying risks and opportunities, and proactively providing recommendations to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Collaborate with assigned Project Managers to develop, integrate, and maintain project schedules that align with project objectives and deadlines.
  • Attend and actively participate in OAC meetings and schedule review sessions to provide insight and updates on project progress and scheduling.
  • Generate, distribute, and present periodic schedule reports, keeping stakeholders informed of project status and key developments.
  • Perform thorough reviews and quality checks on vendor‑supplied schedules to verify accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with the project’s overall timeline.
  • Conduct on‑site inspections as necessary to collect relevant data and insights for schedule updates and management.
  • Assist in the evaluation and incorporation of schedule changes and their impact on project deliverables and timelines.
  • Work with the broader Project Control team on various strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of project delivery.
  • Assist with the maintenance and administration of client's portfolio management system, ensuring accurate data input and system functionality as needed.
  • Provide additional support to the Project Control team and project managers as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. PMP, PMI‑SP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, with at least 2 years focused on portfolio‑level management for multiple projects.
  • Experience with scheduling large/medium projects is highly desired.
  • Proficient in scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for schedule quality checks.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise between Project Managers, vendors, and the Project Control team.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and construction industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems.
