Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a seasoned Safety Supervisor based in Belle Glade, Florida. You will instill safety as a top priority, oversee the Project Safety Program, conduct training, and ensure compliance across heavy civil and industrial projects.

Travel to designated project sites will be required. Ideal candidates bring five+ years in construction safety supervision, strong communication, and a solid understanding of civil construction safety practices.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction safety practices.
• Must have OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred; BCSP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority on every job site.
• Oversee the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
• Conduct new hire orientation and safety training sessions.
• Monitor compliance with safety requirements across heavy construction work.
• Assist Project Manager with project setups and coordination.
• Communicate with clients and subcontractors; collaborate with regional safety teams.
• Investigate incidents and analyze safety statistics; implement corrective actions.
• Other duties as assigned.
