Job summary

Extera Building Solutions is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives for Cleveland-based operations, including Warren Roofing and Cleveland Building Restoration. The role focuses on creating a proactive safety culture, overseeing inspections, training, and compliance across roofing, masonry, glazing, and metal work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction safety, strong OSHA knowledge, and leadership skills to drive incident reduction and action plans with HR and operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience with strong leadership.
• Proven ability to lead safety programs, audits, and trainings.
• Experience in roofing, masonry restoration, glazing, or related trades is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926).
• Excellent communication and incident investigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all safety programs, policies and initiatives across Cleveland operations.
• Develop and continuously improve safety standards aligned with OSHA and industry best practices.
• Conduct routine and unannounced jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions; stop unsafe work when needed.
• Lead safety onboarding, orientation, and required training programs.
• Coordinate training for fall protection, silica awareness, scaffolding, and related topics.
• Track certifications, expirations, and compliance requirements.
• Lead incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with HR, operations, project managers, and leadership on safety improvements.
