Job summary

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a highly motivated Construction Safety Associate to implement and manage health and safety practices in accordance with OSHA regulations and client standards at our heavy industrial project sites.

The role requires a self-directed, detail-oriented safety professional with strong communication and computer skills who can conduct safety meetings, training, inspections, and root-cause investigations in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• OSHA 500/510 certification preferred.
• BCSP certifications or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficient PPE usage and development of JHA/JSA.
• Strong communication with site management and crews.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the technical facilitation of the project EH&S program.
• Deliver project EH&S training, onboarding and job-specific safety instruction to ensure site compliance.
• Coordinate and lead routine safety meetings with agendas, minutes, actions and attendance records.
• Perform daily site EH&S assessments and audits, documenting findings and corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause investigations into safety incidents and prepare required reports.

Environmental and Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Safety Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety practices in accordance with OSHA regulations and client standards.

We are looking for a self-directed, detail-oriented safety professional with excellent communication and computer skills who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven construction environment.

Job Description:

• Develop improve the technical facilitation of the Project EH&S Program.
• Provide the necessary project management, supervisory or craft training, on-boarding/new hire safety orientation, or other job/task-specific EH&S related training, as necessary to ensure compliance with the site EH&S Program requirements, against a given contractor scope of work.
• Coordinate and conducti routine/scheduled safety meetings, which include relevant site/facility topical information, comprehensive agendas, captured minutes/actions, and accurate attendance records.
• Conduct daily informal site EH&S general site assessments or specific formal audit-type inspections while capturing and maintaining the appropriate written finding and close-out documentation.
• Conduct site safety/health, property or process loss, Root-Cause style investigations along with the necessary customer or company required reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• +5 years of heavy industrial construction Field Safety experience.
• OSHA 30 mandatory, OSHA 500/510 preferred.
• Formal (BCSP) certifications preferred or comparable experience in the field.
• Strong working knowledge of PPE, JHA/JSA development and compliance monitoring.
• Current First / CPR / AED certification.
• Strong office & communication skills - will work with various individuals of site management/oversight.
• Ability to work long hours, adhering to a 5-10s+ schedule.
