Job summary

Wade Trim in Omaha is seeking a Construction Engineer to join our Construction team. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering, with hands-on work in heavy civil projects such as tunnels, structural concrete, and excavation.

Key duties include interpreting plans, scheduling inspections, conducting field inspections, preparing reports, assisting with cost estimates, and maintaining safe, professional client relations.

Position Description

We are looking for a Construction Engineer to join our Construction team in our Omaha office. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering, with experience on heavy civil type work including tunnel, structural concrete and excavation.

Typical Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications
• Schedule and coordinate inspection, testing and survey staff.
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
• Maintain project files and record drawings
• Prepare construction reports
• Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
• Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks.
• Monitor task budget and progress
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist in the preparation of proposals
• Assist Project Managers
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre construction, seminars and/or training classes, etc.
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering
• Field experience in construction inspection

Skills / Experience

• Experience on heavy civil and tunnel work
• Valid driver’s license
• This position requires excellent organizational skills in order to accommodate multiple tasks simultaneously and excellent communications skills when dealing with all individuals at all levels
