Job Description

Our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group assists in all levels of federal, public, private, and international organizations by offering planning and construction services for transportation systems that reflect community needs. Our value-added program management, best-in-class design-build expertise, and unparalleled sustainability and economic solutions, build partnerships and create solutions for current and future environmental and infrastructure challenges.

Project Description: The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works has awarded our team the contract to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the new South-Dade Bus Maintenance Facility located on a 20-acre site located at SW 127 Ave and Biscayne Drive. The Project will include a two-story maintenance and operations facility with approximately 54k s.f. for maintenance parts storage and approximately 27k s.f. for dispatch, driver, and training areas. Bus parking deck will house approximately 100 articulated Battery Electric Buses.

Logging, and reviewing the construction contractor’s submittals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with construction contract documents.

Drafting documents for possible construction contract modifications.

Reviewing construction contractor proposals and claims for any additional cost and/or time.

Ensuring all aspects of construction work scopes are being effectively managed and performed by the construction contractors.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or Vocational Technical degree or equivalent. 6 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Driver's License Requirements

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

Skills And Abilities

Good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English. Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer, smartphone or related applications and programs. Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction. Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings, contract provisions, and specifications. Advanced knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction.
