Job summary

Armada Staffing Group is seeking a seasoned Residential Construction Remodeling Assistant to join a premier Central Ohio home-improvement company. The role requires 10+ years in remodeling, multi-trade expertise, and the ability to read blueprints.

You'll work with the lead carpenter across kitchens, baths, and other projects on-site throughout Columbus. Hours are 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in residential construction and remodeling.
• Proficiency in carpentry, drywall, flooring, painting, and general home improvements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Must pass a background check and have valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong customer service and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other home improvements.
• Perform framing, drywall installation, painting, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry.
• Support lead carpenter and company owner to complete projects according to plans and quality standards.
• Read blueprints and project specs.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized job sites and communicate professionally with homeowners.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Construction Remodeling Assistant to join our client's team!This is a hands‑on opportunity for a well‑rounded construction professional with at least 10 years of residential remodeling experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple trades and be comfortable assisting with a variety of home improvement projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, flooring, drywall, and general carpentry. You will work alongside the lead carpenter and company owner to complete high-quality remodeling projects while maintaining excellent workmanship, safety standards, and professionalism.

Job Details

Pay Rate: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Employment Type: Full-Time.

Overtime: Some overtime opportunities available.

Work Location: Various job sites throughout Central Ohio, primarily Northwest Columbus, Downtown Columbus, and New Albany.

Weekends: Generally off.

• Perform a variety of construction tasks, including framing, drywall installation, painting, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry.
• Support the lead carpenter and company owner in completing projects according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and project specifications.
• Safely and effectively operate power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment.
• Perform demolition, site preparation, material handling, and job-site cleanup as needed.
• Troubleshoot construction‑related issues and assist with finding practical solutions in the field.
• Ensure all work meets company quality expectations and follows established safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with team members and homeowners throughout the project.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must adhere to the company's no‑smoking policy at job sites.
