Overview

The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Project Manager/Team Leader helping to bring the most impactful transportation and water infrastructure projects in the U.S. from vision to reality. You will join our elite Critical Infrastructure Command Team, a traveling group of construction quality professionals helping complex projects meet quality, regulatory, schedule, and budget milestones. You will lead the quality control strategy, mobilization, and execution on large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects, mentoring engineers and field professionals and coordinating construction management. This role involves working directly with clients and project partners to ensure expectations are understood and met, delivering projects that achieve milestones. This position involves travel for extended periods (approximately 75%–80% of the year) with allowances for time with loved ones. Some working hours may include evenings, overnight, and weekends.

What You’ll Do

As a Team Leader you will:

  • Directly manage a team of engineers and field professionals, including hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Be responsible for team structure, role clarity, and effective deployment of resources across projects
  • Monitor team workload, well-being, and engagement, particularly in a high-travel environment
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Provide ongoing feedback and career development planning
  • Identify and develop high-potential talent and proactively address performance gaps

As a Team Leader on the Critical Infrastructure Command Team, you will:

  • Lead development of the quality control strategy, scope, and plan for large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Lead mobilization, project execution and resourcing
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to engineers with responsibility for coordination, execution, and construction management
  • Collaborate across the business to develop best-in-class quality control and safety strategies, plans, and practices
  • Hold team members accountable to the Command Team’s high standards
  • Support business development efforts and be an external representative and advocate for the Command Team and Ulteig industry-wide
What We Expect From You
  • Licensed Professional Engineer

Additional Opportunity Details

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $134,300 to $181,800. Factors used to determine salary include job-specific skills, education, training, location, years of experience, and comparison to others in the role.
