We are seeking a full-time Construction Quality Control Manager based out of our Newport News, Virginia office with commercial construction experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement project-specific quality control plans.
  2. Inspect and evaluate the work area according to plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies and raising issues to ensure safety and quality.
  3. Develop, gather, maintain, and submit work plans, submittals, reports, etc.
  4. Ensure subcontractors are aware of all project quality control requirements.
  5. Plan and conduct a three-phase inspection program: Preparatory Meetings and Reports, Initial Phase Inspections and Reports, Follow-up Inspections and Reports, and Final Phase Inspections.
  6. Lead and document quality control meetings with the project team and/or customers; provide written minutes.
  7. Provide daily quality control reports to ensure standards are met, reinforce activities, and address non-conformance constructively.
  8. Verify and document that all materials and equipment meet specifications, are handled and stored properly, and are acceptable for use; address damages and defects.
  9. Schedule, coordinate, and document all required code and independent inspections; correct and re-inspect non-conformances prior to covering up work.
  10. Review as-built drawings for accuracy and deviations from contract drawings.
  11. Review the Job Site Safety Plan, verify hazard analyses, safety measures, and conduct safety inspections during various phases.
  12. Stop work, reject materials/equipment, and direct removal or replacement of non-compliant work or unsafe activities.
  13. Communicate professionally with all trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff, and customer representatives.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field from an accredited university (preferred).
  2. Minimum of 5 years experience in similar projects.
  3. Current OSHA 30; First Aid/CPR; USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  4. Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Procore.
  7. Familiarity with USACE RMS CM and EM-385-1-1.
  8. Unwavering commitment to safety.
  9. Ability to pass all required security requirements.
