Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and site teams, you will promote a proactive culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement from planning through to completion.
Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing project quality plans, inspection and test plans, quality procedures and audit schedules. You will oversee inspections, testing, non-conformance management, corrective and preventive actions, technical queries, change control and quality records. The role will involve reviewing contractor submissions, method statements, inspection documentation and material certificates, as well as monitoring site activities to identify risks and ensure that defects are prevented or resolved promptly. You will lead internal and external audits, prepare quality reports, track performance indicators and provide clear updates to senior project stakeholders. Supporting project handover will also be essential, including the review and completion of as-built information, operation and maintenance documentation, test results and final quality dossiers.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in construction quality assurance, quality control or a related project delivery role, preferably within major building, infrastructure, civil engineering or industrial projects. You should have a strong understanding of quality management systems, construction standards, inspection and testing practices, and relevant health, safety and environmental requirements. Formal qualifications in construction, engineering, quality management or a related discipline are desirable, alongside recognised quality certification where applicable. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the confidence to challenge non-compliant work and influence teams at all levels. A practical, detail-focused approach, sound commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding site environment will be highly valued.
