Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lease Crutcher Lewis is seeking an experienced Construction Project Scheduler to support data center construction projects within our Data Center & Advanced Technology business unit, with an initial focus on our projects in Phoenix, Arizona. This role serves as a business unit-wide scheduling resource, supporting project teams from pursuit and preconstruction through construction completion and closeout.

In this role, you will use Primavera P6 to develop proposal and pursuit schedules, partner with Superintendents to build and maintain detailed CPM construction schedules, and provide the schedule analysis, reporting, and process support needed to keep complex projects aligned and moving forward. Superintendents remain the primary owners of individual project construction schedules; the Project Scheduler provides the P6 infrastructure, technical expertise, and analytical support that helps teams manage those schedules consistently and effectively.

The ideal candidate brings strong construction scheduling experience, expert P6 proficiency, a practical understanding of field execution, and the ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly to project teams, senior leaders, trade partners, and clients.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • You build trust with Superintendents, project managers, preconstruction partners, and clients through clear communication, responsive support, and reliable follow-through.
  • You help project teams develop schedules that are realistic, contract-compliant, field-informed, and useful for decision-making.
  • You identify schedule risks, constraints, trends, and recovery opportunities early so teams can act before issues affect safety, quality, cost, or client commitments.
  • You create consistency in scheduling standards, templates, workflows, naming conventions, and reporting across DCAT projects.
  • You strengthen Lewis’ ability to deliver complex data center work through thoughtful planning, practical analysis, and a steady commitment to doing the right thing.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Preconstruction and Proposal Scheduling

  • Develop high-level pursuit and proposal schedules in P6 to support marketing, preconstruction, and business development efforts across DCAT markets.
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to establish milestone schedules, phasing assumptions, procurement strategies, and overall project durations for proposals and interviews.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and owner requirements during preconstruction to identify schedule-related risks, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Provide constructability input from a scheduling perspective to support design development, phasing decisions, budget development, general conditions planning, and contract negotiations.

Construction Schedule Support

  • Partner with each project’s Superintendent to build, structure, update, and maintain detailed CPM schedules in P6, including activity logic, durations, resource assignments, milestones, procurement activities, and project constraints.
  • Support baseline schedule development and formal schedule updates in alignment with contract requirements, owner submittal schedules, and project team needs.
  • Provide Superintendents with schedule data, look-ahead reports, and near-term activity sequences to support short-interval planning and field execution.
  • Incorporate subcontractor schedule input, procurement milestones, long-lead equipment tracking, and project team updates into the master schedule.
  • Produce updated schedule reports and summaries for project teams, internal leadership, and owner/client distribution.

Schedule Analysis and Reporting

  • Perform critical path analysis, float management, schedule trend analysis, and variance reporting to identify risks and recovery opportunities.
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses to evaluate the schedule impact of changes, delays, and unforeseen conditions.
  • Support schedule-related claim documentation and schedule dispute resolution as needed.
  • Monitor schedule performance against baseline and communicate variances, impacts, and recommended recovery strategies to project teams.
  • Present schedule status and analysis clearly to project teams, senior leadership, clients, and other stakeholders.

Project Team Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as a dedicated scheduling resource across active DCAT projects, supporting multiple teams and geographic markets simultaneously.
  • Participate in project team meetings, owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and planning sessions to represent schedule status and resolve scheduling issues.
  • Assist project engineers and project teams in using the project schedule to support RFI management, submittal planning, procurement tracking, turnover, occupancy planning, and closeout sequencing.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve DCAT scheduling standards, templates, workflows, naming conventions, documentation practices, and version control.
  • Train and mentor project managers, project engineers, and Superintendents on scheduling best practices, P6 usage, and schedule management principles.
  • Stay current on scheduling methodologies, industry standards, and scheduling software or technology developments.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 5 years of construction scheduling experience on commercial projects, with demonstrated proficiency developing both high-level proposal schedules and detailed CPM construction schedules.
  • Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 required; experience managing multiple concurrent project schedules in a multi-project P6 environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of CPM scheduling methodology, critical path analysis, float management, schedule delay analysis, and Time Impact Analysis techniques.
  • Solid understanding of construction means and methods, project delivery methods, construction sequencing, contract documents, general conditions, and owner-required schedule deliverables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Experience with Procore or other construction project management platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and project teams while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex schedule information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Planning and Scheduling Professional certification or PMI Scheduling Professional certification preferred.
  • Data center, mission‑critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or large‑scale technical construction experience strongly preferred.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Builds trusted relationships with field teams, project leaders, preconstruction partners, trade partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and practically with technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, follow‑through, and sound judgment.
  • Solves problems with a collaborative, field‑informed, and solutions‑oriented approach.
  • Balances consistency and flexibility while supporting multiple teams, priorities, and project demands.
  • Shows initiative, accountability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, quality, trust, respect, and doing the right thing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work occurs primarily in office and project‑based environments, with regular travel to DCAT project sites and Lewis offices, including Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, and other locations as required.
  • Team members may periodically work on active commercial construction sites and are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all company and project safety requirements.
  • Standard work hours apply, with additional work as project, client, and schedule requirements demand.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

  • Regular travel to Phoenix‑area project sites is expected, with additional travel to other Lewis offices, DCAT jobsites, client meetings, and industry events as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record per Company vehicle policy required.
  • Successful completion of pre‑employment requirements, including drug testing, is a condition of employment.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to communicate effectively, use vision capabilities appropriate to the work, frequently sit, stand, and walk, use hands, fingers and arms, and occasionally visit active construction sites, including climbing and navigating temporary facilities.
