What To Expect

As a Tool Install Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in new factory buildout, capacity upgrades, maintaining operations, and system optimization for Tesla. You will manage general contractors and subcontractors across various trades to install new manufacturing lines and collaborate cross-functionally with construction engineering, design, facilities, commissioning, and manufacturing teams as the facility transitions to production. From both the field and office, you will be responsible for maintaining budgets and schedules.

What You'll Do

1. Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction, opportunities, and cost savings for Tesla.
2. Evaluate bidding, material buyouts, and negotiate opportunities for projects.
3. Maintain effective communication with Tesla personnel, including QC, QA, CX, and Facilities teams.
4. Complete project startup procedures, including projections, budgeting, and job cost entry for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
5. Prepare major purchase orders following appropriate pricing and scope evaluations.
6. Review project plans, P&ID’s, single-line diagrams, and loop diagrams to account for all materials and hardware.
7. Manage projects according to Tesla specifications, procedures, and policies.

What You'll Bring

4. Proficiency with or ability to learn Primavera, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite, and other relevant systems.
5. Ability to read and interpret contract documents, plans, specifications, and requirements.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capitalize on project opportunities.
7. Knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, and related topics.
