Job summary

Target is seeking a Construction Project Manager for Special Projects and Transitions in Minneapolis, MN. Hybrid/Flex-Your-Day arrangement with onsite and virtual work as required, responsible for leading cross-functional teams and managing scope, budgets, and schedules on retail construction projects.

You will coordinate with vendors and field leadership, review bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality control.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in project management, store planning or purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of store and distribution center projects, including large program rollouts and special projects.
• Manage scope, schedule and budget for assigned Target construction projects.
• Coordinate onsite construction process and turnover with vendors, GCs, and field teams.
• Review and analyze contractor bids; recommend and approve subcontractor bids and changes.
• Conduct contract negotiations and monitor payments and close-out contracts.
• Ensure Target quality control standards on projects are met.

From large program rollouts to unique special projects, or large ground-up construction, you’ll help manage the scope, schedule, and budget for all Target construction projects, including adhering to the project timeline, coordinating and overseeing the onsite construction process and turnover. You’ll keep all of the players and partners aligned with effective communication between vendors, general contractors, field leadership and project teams. As a **Construction Project Manager,** you will lead cross-functional teams as you develop and manage scopes, budgets and schedules and control the construction and fixture installation process for assigned projects to meet the established goals and objectives. By reviewing and analyzing contractor bids, you will make recommendations and approve subcontractor bids, conduct contract negotiations, review and approve changes to the contract and applications for payments, and close out all necessary contracts. You’ll conduct periodic meetings to monitor the activities and budgets of other departments that affect the projects. You will be responsible for project completion within approved budget, which includes obtaining, reviewing, and maintaining the budget input from other documents.
