Job summary

Energix North America is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Arlington, VA team. This role is fully onsite with no remote or hybrid option, reporting to the Project Management group and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and local officials.

You will oversee utility-scale solar projects from permitting through construction closeout, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards while coordinating with O&M for turnover and warranty tasks.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years track record of expertise in project management, preferably in Utility-scale renewables in Virginia/East Coast.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of solar renewable energy construction process.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, P6 or similar scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute contractor agreements to ensure compliance with project specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Manage project cost accounting and project budgets to limit financial risk.
  • Manage drawing takeoffs, estimating and subcontractor agreements.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the project work including equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors toward successful implementation of the project.
  • Works with all project stakeholders to develop and maintain the project schedule.
  • Maintains professional level of communication with subcontractors, equipment and material vendors, owners, inspectors, etc.
  • Manage construction activities, contracts, and finances to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Contribute/manage efforts to problem solve for drawing conflicts and coordination with project consultants, site managers, etc.
  • Manage closeout effort of the projects including commissioning, training, warranties and operation and maintenance manuals for turn over to O&M dept.
  • Manage project budget, RFI, and change order management.

Location: Arlington, VA headquarters (Onsite Only)

The Opportunity

This Construction Project Manager position is based at our Arlington, VA headquarters and is fully onsite. Remote or hybrid work is not an option.

In this role, you will coordinate closely with internal teams, contractors, inspectors, consultants, local counties, and other relevant agencies to deliver projects successfully. You will oversee utility-scale solar projects from the permitting phase through construction closeout and handover to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.

This position is responsible for budget management, scheduling, contracting, and procurement coordination to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

We are looking for someone with a combination of the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. If you meet at least 70% of the items below, we want to talk to you!

  • 4+ years track record of expertise in project management, preferably in Utility-scale renewables in Virginia/East Coast. Those with experience at general contractor will be considered.
  • Project and/or case management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • High level knowledge of solar renewable energy construction process.
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, P6 or similar scheduling software to create and manage critical path project schedule.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with contractor outreach and project estimation.
  • Strong technical understanding of drawings and specifications such that one can add value to troubleshooting/problem solving communication with contractors and superintendents.
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, negotiating and customer service.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities and public officials.

Work Location, Structure, and Travel:

  • This position will be based in the Arlington, VA / Remote - US East Coast only.
  • Travel may be required throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region up to 25% of time
