Job summary

Rockford Park District in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will coordinate a team of professionals, manage budgets, and ensure on-time delivery within scope.

The ideal candidate has construction experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, with a focus on safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
• Minimum of three years commercial construction experience.
• Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
• Knowledge of operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word.
• Skills in workflow analysis and management.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery from contract award to final handoff.
• Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and forecasting with finance.
• Establish and manage project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6.
• Manage bid and award process including bid solicitation and post bid conferences.
• Lead meetings with owner, architect, and subcontractors; document decisions.
• Monitor activities to ensure design, schedule, quality, and safety compliance.
• Identify and proactively manage risks like delays and cost overruns.
• Review and approve monthly owner and trade contractor invoices.
• Provide project cost projections to clients.
• Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and payments promptly.
• Collaborate daily with Project Field team to keep progress moving.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Manage warranty calls to meet company requirements.
