Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is seeking a Construction Project Manager I to oversee multiple construction projects across facilities and greenways. You’ll coordinate with vendors, internal staff, and external contractors through planning, design, and construction phases to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related project management experience or training.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, one of the Natural Sciences, or a related field.
• Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, designers, and drafters to ensure delivery of design plans.
• Manage small professional service and/or construction contracts; track costs.
• Ensure projects meet established design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Track milestones, budgets, or performance indicators and prepare reports for senior management.
• Enforce local standards to ensure infrastructure is constructed with minimal environmental impact.
• Prepare and issue requests for proposals; coordinate between customers, contractors and consultants.
• Conduct needs assessments; prepare cost estimates and gather data for contractors.
• Write project specifications and administer project-related contracts.
