  • Knowledge of planning, design, scheduling, and quality control standards.
  • Knowledge of site development, building structures, and MEP systems.
  • Understanding of building codes and construction standards.
  • Experience reviewing design documents and coordinating with architects/engineers and agencies.
  • Ability to prepare reports, cost estimates, and fiscal reports.
  • Familiarity with basic computer functions and project management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate construction activities across planning, design, construction, and warranty periods.
  • Resolve technical issues among contractors, architect/engineers, utility companies, staff, and governmental officials.
  • Resolve problems related to scheduling and coordination of diverse construction activities.
  • Review and approve design details and construction in place.
  • Participate in review of schematic, design, and construction document submissions and make recommendations.
  • Manage coordination of plan reviews by facilities staff and appropriate governmental agencies.
  • Manage coordination of activities during the bidding process.
  • Make recommendations related to value engineering.
  • Assist in establishing new and renewal project requirements with appropriate staff.
  • Prepare reports, cost estimates, and fiscal reports.
  • Recommend preparation and maintenance of construction specifications, schedules, procedures, and contracting methods.
  • Support quality control, assess progress, process contract changes, and verify project closeout requirements.

Job description

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager for one of our clients to manage all aspects of planning, design, construction, and renovation for educational facilities. This role covers coordination across planning, design, construction, and warranty phases, including schedules, quality control, contract changes, and project closeout.

General information

This engagement focuses on construction management for new and existing school facilities. The role involves working across a broad group of stakeholders, including contractors, architect/engineers, utility companies, facilities staff, and governmental agencies.

The project scope includes planning and design review, bidding coordination, construction oversight, warranty follow-through, and closeout verification. The work environment may include both indoor and outdoor site conditions, and the role may require schedule flexibility to accommodate construction phasing and work hours.
