Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, seeks a Project Manager to lead planning and execution of complex construction projects. You will coordinate field leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The Project Manager acts as the primary contact for owners, architects, and engineers, driving project performance and financial success, and reports to the Project Executive.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • General Contractor License preferred.
  • Strong understanding of industry practices and trends and their impact on the corporation.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, supervise, terminate, and reassign duties of all assigned personnel following company policies.
  • Develop and implement normal operating procedures for overall project operations.
  • Approve material purchases and equipment rentals not covered in the estimate and not on hand.
  • Act as company representative in negotiations with the owners.
  • Approve the purchase of tools and supplies on jobsite.
  • Approve all contract agreements and cost of all outside repairs of equipment assigned to the site(s).
  • Review reports used by Ajax to keep top management informed on time, cost, quality and safety.
  • Oversee preparation of the project budget & project schedule.
  • Audit activities and details for an efficient, profitable project from contract to warranty.
  • Maintain commitment to the Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Maintain good relations with project teams, subcontractors, and owners.

  • Hire, supervise, terminate, and/or delegate and reassign duties of all assigned personnel as needed, following established company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Develop and implement normal operating procedures for overall project operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering or related field.
