Federal Express Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead Build-to-Suit and material handling projects from planning through startup. You will mentor teams, coordinate with planning, design, procurement, IT, and finance, and manage vendors and contractors to meet schedule and budget requirements.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, strong project management skills, and travel to site locations.
The Construction Project Manager manages construction projects from the planning stages through construction and startup of building or material handling systems for Build‑to‑Suit projects in manual facilities, ensuring successful hand‑off to field operations. The role focuses on small Build‑to‑Suit or material handling portions of expansion capital projects that require significant guidance and mentorship. Responsibilities include coordinating with internal planning, design, procurement, real estate, IT, finance, environmental, and legal departments, contracting and managing developers, general contractors, and architectural engineering firms, coordinating with local jurisdictions to obtain Certificates of Occupancy, enforcing specifications, managing schedules and installations, creating cost estimates, managing capital and expense funding, completing vendor testing or commissioning, and traveling to the job site to monitor progress and coordinate vendor work.
This is a hybrid position located in Pittsburgh, PA. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, construction project management, or a related area is required. In addition to the required experience, additional related experience may be considered as an equivalent for degree requirements.
Demonstrated academic experience in engineering project management is required. An advanced degree may offset experience requirements.
Some travel may be required.
$4,324.00 / month – $11,309.65 / month (estimated).
