Job description

Most construction project managers track schedules. This role requires you to control them—and restore them when field conditions disrupt progress.

2 Hour Learning is building a nationwide microschool network that compresses a full day of education into two hours through AI. The model's success hinges on rapid, precise execution in the field. Permitting bottlenecks, poor trade sequencing, and coordination gaps all threaten expansion velocity. This position exists to eliminate these obstacles and transform construction into a reliable, scalable engine.

You will work on-site driving builds forward. Managing contractor relationships. Maintaining schedule discipline. Resolving sequencing conflicts before they cascade into delays. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital systems to cut manual overhead, enhance transparency, and compress cycle times. This is active, hands-on project leadership. You are the person who intervenes when schedules drift and restores momentum.

If you have construction experience but are frustrated by weak coordination, insufficient accountability, or constant reactive firefighting, this is an opportunity to lead execution correctly—at meaningful scale.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Manage on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure proper sequencing and adherence to schedule
  • Control and enforce project schedules, monitoring key milestones, surfacing risks proactively, and implementing corrective measures when slippage occurs
  • Leverage platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to oversee tasks, maintain documentation, and track progress across multiple active projects
  • Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing reviewer feedback, and coordinating with relevant parties to advance approvals
  • Deploy AI tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision workflows, minimizing manual workload and accelerating delivery
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Monitoring dashboards from a distance without stepping in to correct schedule deviations
  • Overseeing projects solely at a strategic level, disconnected from field realities and trade dependencies
  • Depending on legacy manual methods for progress tracking or team communication
  • Shying away from tough discussions with contractors or stakeholders when timelines are jeopardized
  • Delaying action on issues while waiting for complete information
Construction Project Manager Key Responsibilities

Ensure on-time delivery of school construction projects by leading on-site coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and enhancing speed and reliability through digital tools and AI.

Basic Requirements
  • Hands-on experience delivering U.S. construction projects, including field coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management
  • Proven ownership of project timelines, including milestone tracking, deadline enforcement, and delay recovery
  • Working knowledge of digital project-management platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project, with rigorous task and document management practices
  • Experience making trade-sequencing decisions that directly impacted project timelines
  • Active participation in U.S. permitting processes, including preparation, submission, revision cycles, and engagement with permitting authorities
  • Verified use of AI tools to expedite planning, analysis, documentation, or other tangible work outputs, with quality assurance of results
  • Effective problem-solving under uncertain construction conditions and ability to cultivate strong working relationships with contractors, vendors, and external partners
  • Receptiveness to candid feedback and comfort with rapid iteration
  • Willingness and capacity to be on-site a minimum of three days per week and travel approximately 60% of the time throughout the United States as project demands require
  • Based in the United States with authorization to work independently of visa sponsorship
Nice-to-have Requirements
  • Background managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with accelerated or high-growth construction settings where schedules are tightly compressed
  • Motivation to enhance construction workflows through automation or process standardization
