Job description

The best construction leaders build more than projects; they build the people around them. Across the companies we partner with, that shows up as leadership willing to hand experienced managers real ownership of their jobs, a culture where growth is expected rather than hoped for, and organizations with the kind of regional track record and reputation for quality that make people proud to say where they work.

This is a role built for ownership, not just execution. You will run projects from preconstruction through closeout, carry real accountability for budget and schedule, and work directly with clients and business development to shape future work. For a project manager who has proven themselves on general contractor or self-perform work and wants a bigger seat at the table, this is a chance to build on that reputation and take on more.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead projects from preconstruction through final closeout, maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules; coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.
  • Conduct preconstruction, job site, and owner meetings, ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Own the project budget through design and construction phases, including cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Draft subcontracts and manage procurement; review and approve pay applications and change orders.
  • Initiate and oversee closeout procedures to ensure all financial and contractual obligations are met.
  • Partner with business development to develop proposals and present to prospective clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships that support repeat business and referrals.
  • Collaborate with estimating and design teams to grow market share and self-perform capabilities.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or 7+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in construction project management.
  • Proven experience managing projects as a General Contractor, including self-performing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, means and methods, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Trimble, or similar).
Preferred
  • Experience with concrete or other self-perform structural trades across commercial, retail, industrial, transportation, or multi-family projects.
  • Background in preconstruction planning, estimating, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background with a top ENR-ranked general contractor.
