Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial interior renovation, fit-out, and facilities projects from kickoff to closeout. You will coordinate subcontractors, review construction documents, build schedules, and manage costs for a high-volume portfolio across retail, restaurant, and corporate sectors.

The role requires hands-on, client-facing leadership, collaboration with superintendents, and strong proficiency in scheduling and budgeting.

Qualifications

  • 3-10+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction.
  • Experience in interior fit-outs, renovations, tenant improvements, refresh/remodel projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent commercial projects.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing plans and construction documents.

  • Conduct project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to communicate schedules, expectations, and project status.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field teams to ensure safe, high-quality execution of all work.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve field issues, scheduling conflicts, and project challenges.
  • Support estimating, pricing, budgeting, and value engineering efforts when required.
  • Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, forecasting updates, and closeout documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety standards, client requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Build long-term relationships with repeat clients, including major retail, restaurant, and commercial accounts.
  • Utilize project management software and internal systems to maintain project documentation, schedules, and communication records.

  • Experience in retail construction, restaurant construction, commercial renovations, facility improvement programs, and corporate interior build-outs.
Work Environment

The position involves a mix of office work (70%) and regional travel (30%), typically from Monday to Friday. You will have access to a company laptop, cell phone, and credit card, along with company vehicles for project-related travel. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waldorf, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $43.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
