Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of complex construction projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing programmes, budgets, resources and quality standards while ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements. You will take ownership of project planning, coordinate site and office-based teams, and maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and monitoring project schedules, forecasts and cost plans; appointing and managing subcontractors and suppliers; reviewing designs, specifications and construction methodologies; and identifying and managing risks, issues and changes. You will lead regular progress meetings, provide accurate reports, maintain comprehensive project records and ensure that relevant statutory, regulatory, health and safety and environmental obligations are met. You will also support the resolution of technical and commercial matters, monitor quality against agreed standards and contribute to the successful handover and close-out of projects.

Applicants should have proven experience managing construction projects, ideally from pre-construction through to completion, together with a strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, cost control and health and safety requirements. Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing demands and make well-informed decisions under pressure. A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, project management or a related discipline is desirable, as is professional membership of an appropriate industry body. You will be expected to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative approach and a consistent commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
