Role

Kelso Southwest is an operating company within the Kelso Industries platform located in Phoenix, AZ. Kelso Southwest delivers construction services across commercial and industrial projects, partnering closely with clients, field teams, and trade partners to execute work safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on schedule and cost control.

Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned construction projects from pre-construction turnover through closeout. This role coordinates with estimating, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Manager is accountable for scope management, scheduling, cost control, change management, and project documentation, while protecting the company’s financial interests on each project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from turnover through completion
  • Review and understand all contract documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate with field leadership to execute project scope and schedules
  • Lead internal project kickoffs and ongoing coordination with operations and field teams
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Prepare material takeoffs, pricing, and documentation for scope changes
  • Validate project budgets with estimating and reallocate costs early in the project lifecycle
  • Track job costs, forecast cost to complete, and protect project margins
  • Prepare and submit monthly billings from the project schedule of values
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and logs within Procore
  • Participate in project meetings and ensure follow-up on action items
  • Promote and enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance
  • Support project closeout and participate in lessons learned reviews
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and subcontractors
  • Demonstrated ability to track job costs and forecast cost to complete
  • Proficiency with Procore and standard construction software tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
