Job summary

Kay & Co is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead commercial and residential construction projects from preconstruction to closeout in North Reading, MA. You’ll own budgets, schedules, and procurement, coordinating with owners, architects, and engineers to deliver on time and on budget. The role offers autonomy and a voice in company growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience with GC/CM.
• Strong financial control and ability to manage budgets and change orders.
• Excellent communication with clients and trade partners.
• Working knowledge of Procore or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own budgets, schedules, cost reports and forecasting.
• Manage buyout, subcontracts and procurement.
• Act as main contact for owners, architects and engineers.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals and change orders.
• Collaborate with superintendents to keep projects on time and on budget.
• Mentor assistant PMs and project engineers.
• Build strong client relationships leading to repeat work.

Our client is a well respected construction management and general contracting firm with close to 20 years of history across New England. They deliver commercial and residential projects, and they’ve built their business on long term relationships with their clients, subcontractors and their own people.

They’re a growing team of around 25, so this is a chance to run your own projects with real autonomy, work directly alongside leadership and have a genuine say in how the business develops.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Owning budgets, schedules, cost reports and forecasting
• Managing buyout, subcontracts and procurement
• Acting as the main point of contact for owners, architects and engineers
• Overseeing RFIs, submittals and change orders
• Working closely with superintendents to keep jobs safe, on time and on budget
• Mentoring assistant project managers and project engineers
• Building strong client relationships that lead to repeat work

What our client is looking for

• 5+ years of project management experience with a general contractor or construction manager
• A track record of delivering commercial and/or residential projects from start to finish
• Strong financial control and the confidence to manage budgets and change
• Excellent communication skills with clients and trade partners
• Working knowledge of Procore or similar software
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• OSHA 30 is a plus
