Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in retail construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing commercial retail projects from preconstruction through completion and will be comfortable coordinating owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors and field teams.

This position is ideal for a Project Manager who has experience with ground-up retail, tenant improvements, renovations, remodels, rollouts or multi-site retail construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage commercial retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and scopes of work
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors
• Review plans, specifications, contracts and project documents
• Manage project costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals and purchase orders
• Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and clients
• Identify potential project risks and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field personnel
• Review subcontractor bids, scopes and proposals
• Assist with subcontractor selection and contract negotiations
• Conduct project meetings and maintain clear communication with project stakeholders
• Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
• Manage project documentation throughout the construction process
• Review pay applications, invoices and project financials
• Manage punch lists, inspections and project closeout
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and repeat customers
• Ensure projects comply with company safety, quality and contractual requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience
• Previous Project Manager experience in retail construction
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications and contracts
• Experience managing subcontractors and vendors
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting and project financial management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
