Project Management Institute, Inc. is seeking a field-based Solar Project Construction Manager to lead on-site execution across multiple Massachusetts projects, coordinating with subcontractors and the internal construction team.
You will manage schedules, safety, and daily field operations, perform site walks, and report progress using Procore, Google Drive, and Worksuite while maintaining open communication with customers and stakeholders.
We are hiring an action-driven, software savvy, field-based Solar Project Construction Manager to hit the ground running and serve as our on-the-ground construction anchor focused in Massachusetts. This role is very much independent and requires an experienced PM to handle both daily interaction at job sites and ensure roadblocks are recognized and resolved proactively. It is a critical position for our 2027 execution capacity. You will work directly with our field subcontractors, report to our internal construction team, and coordinate regularly with scheduling.
Reports to: Sena (Director of Construction Operations, remote)
Works closely with: Scott Robbins (Field Electrician/O&M Lead), field electrical and solar subcontractors.
Coordinates with: Benjie Borra (GC/Engineering/Design), Richelle (Interconnection/Operations), John Weaver (GM)
Serve as CSG's daily on-site presence across 3-6 concurrent commercial solar projects, primarily in Massachusetts & Rhode Island, with occasional projects in New Hampshire and Connecticut.
Guide and oversee, but not directly manage, licensed subcontractor crews across multiple trades to schedule, budget, and quality standards
Conduct daily site walks, track progress with reports (using Procore software) and against project schedules, and flag issues early
Receive and coordinate material deliveries to job sites, including rental equipment such as storage containers and lifts
Take pictures of construction activities on a daily basis, pick up needed items, meet clients, and other “small’ tasks needed to keep the construction team moving
Drive punch list completion and coordinate commissioning activities
Attend inspections, AHJ meetings, and utility walk-throughs as the CSG representative
Maintain job-level communication with internal construction team through daily updates on active/critical phases and weekly updates during standard progress periods — frequency driven by project needs
Track RFIs, submittals, and change orders through Procore software
Coordinate material deliveries and equipment sequencing with the procurement team
Flag scope changes or site conditions that affect cost or schedule immediately — proactive transparency is the standard, not the exception
Treat schedule transparency as a core responsibility: as soon as a delay is possible, the team is informed — not after it is confirmed
Some projects include recurring customer calls — when they do, attendance is mandatory unless there is a conflict. You are the face of CSG on the job site and that extends to the call.
Maintain an accurate, up-to-date picture of project progress and communicate it clearly to both the PM Lead and the customer
Manage customer expectations on schedule, access, and site conditions with professionalism and honesty
Coordinate with utility and inspection representatives on timing as required
Own job-site safety documentation, pre-task planning, and incident reporting
Enforce safety standards consistently across all subcontractor crews on site
Maintain OSHA compliance records for all active projects
Work with our in-house field electrician to build a consistent site safety culture across all CSG jobs
