Job summary

Facility Services Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate multiple healthcare construction projects in Hawaii.

You will manage labor, materials, schedules, and budgets, and oversee subcontractors and staff from kickoff to completion. The role requires a four‑year degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of construction management experience with at least 5 years in healthcare, plus an ASHE HCC or commitment to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

  • Four‑year degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of construction management experience, plus min. 5 years Healthcare experience.
  • ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) required or to be obtained within 60 days after onboarding.
  • Experience in developing construction schedules and means.
  • Budget management and cost control throughout project lifecycles.
  • Reliable, self‐starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and suppliers for efficient site operations.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints; strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proficient English writing and communication; able to interact with all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Total responsibility for construction project management including labor, materials, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously based on size and complexity.
  • Develop and write technical proposals; create construction plans and schedules.
  • Assist in bid pricing and subcontractor selection; coordinate with Estimator/Pricer.
  • Oversee projects from kickoff to completion and provide status reports.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and in‑house staff; ensure safety and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety plans; enforce project specifics.

Primary Purpose

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Principal Duties And Accountabilities
  • Total responsibility for Construction Project Management; labor, materials, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
  • Will be responsible for several projects simultaneously, depending upon size, complexity, and schedules.
  • Will assist in developing and writing technical proposals.
  • Will develop construction plans and schedules.
  • Will assist the Senior Construction Project Manager in developing bid pricing and subcontractor selections, and work closely with Estimator/Pricer.
  • Will review Proposal SOW, any teaming arrangements and pricing.
  • After award will oversee assigned Projects from kick-off to Completion.
  • Manages Contractors, vendors, and in-house staff.
  • Project Superintendents (PS) Quality Control and Safety Managers are direct reports.
  • Coordinates proper Material Management with PS.
  • Attend all meetings as required by SOW.
  • Provide timely status reports to Owner as required by SOW and FSI Management.
  • Prepare for frequent WIP and financial meetings with SPM and Accounting.
  • May need to serve as On‑Site Management until positions are filled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Four‑year degree in Construction Management or 10+ years of construction management experience, plus min. 5 years’ HealthCare experience a MUST.
  • ASHE Healthcare Construction Certificate (HCC) is required or must be obtained within 60 days after onboarding.
  • Must have considerable experience in developing construction schedules and means.
  • Must have sound successful background in budgets and maintaining costs throughout project lifetimes.
  • Must be reliable and dependable, self‑stators who can work on their own.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers in order to run the site efficiently and effectively.
  • Technical writing background with Corps of Engineers preferred.
  • Enforce Project‑Specific Safety Plan and ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies.
  • Design and maintain schedules, critical paths, and budgets for each construction project.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Industry knowledge and ability to read blueprints.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated and highly organized, with strong time management skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with anyone, from foremen to senior‑level managers.
  • Delivering strategic solutions for clients.
  • Overall knowledge of design, estimating, quality control, construction, and operations.
  • Advanced MS Word skills & proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong written English language skills.
  • Must be able to pass screening process for access to US Military bases.
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Must be able to travel by vehicle or commercial airline.
  • Must be able to lift to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed.
