Project Manager – Vertical Construction (Multifamily & Commercial)
About Hall Irwin
Hall Irwin is a builder with a deep 60+ year legacy and a forward-looking mindset. Based in the Colorado Front Range, we specialize in high-performance multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use, and land development projects. We bring together the structure of proven systems with the heart of servant leadership, always aiming to raise the bar, on the jobsite and in our culture.
But we’re more than builders. We’re culture creators. Every project is a chance to lead, to grow, and to leave something better than we found it. Our core values guide not just how we build, but how we work, lead, and learn, and train.
At Hall Irwin, we don’t just fill roles, we invest in careers.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Project Manager who doesn’t just run jobs, but builds teams and systems that get better every time. This role is ideal for a construction leader with strong technical skills, a growth mindset, and a genuine desire to mentor others while developing their own capabilities
As a PM at Hall Irwin, you will lead project teams from preconstruction through closeout. You'll partner directly with clients, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to drive clarity, solve problems early, and ensure alignment from concept to completion. You'll also play an integral role in shaping how we plan, communicate, and lead across the company.
This role is best suited to someone who is both strategic and grounded in the day-to-day realities of construction. If you’re ready to make an impact on both projects and people, and you’re passionate about learning and leadership, you may be a strong fit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead exciting projects up to $50M across the Colorado Front Range where your decisions drive real impact.
- Coordinate people, tools, and materials to keep jobs running smoothly, efficiently, and on budget.
- Work with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate fair, effective agreements that set the tone for a strong project start.
- Stay ahead of potential issues by identifying risks early and putting solid plans in place to keep the job on track.
- Use lean construction practices to streamline how we build and eliminate waste without cutting corners.
- Model a strong safety mindset every day on site, making sure safety is more than just a checklist.
- Look for opportunities to improve how we work then share and implement those ideas to make the team better.
- Develop detailed, thoughtful project plans that cover everything from scope and budget to schedule and team resources.
- Support the growth of your team, helping project managers and emerging leaders gain skills, confidence, and clarity.
- Communicate clearly and constructively with all stakeholders even when conversations get tough.
- Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry peers that reflect well on the entire Hall Irwin team.
- Make sure every project meets required codes and standards, and that we’re always building to the right specs.
- Lead end-of-project reviews that capture what worked, what didn’t, and how we’ll build even better next time.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- You’re committed to growth—for yourself, your team, and the company as a whole.
- You bring 10+ years of experience leading construction projects, especially in the $10–$50M range.
- You hold a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (and an advanced degree can count toward experience).
- You’ve got certifications like PMP or CM—or you’re actively working toward them.
- You understand the numbers: budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and keeping a close eye on financial performance.
- You know how to motivate and support others, whether it’s mentoring PMs, Project Engineers, or Supers.
- You think strategically and can build plans that connect daily execution to big-picture goals.
- You understand quality and compliance—and you make sure your projects meet the mark every time.
- You’re comfortable under pressure and can stay focused when deadlines are tight.
- You build strong relationships with clients by listening well, solving problems, and delivering what you promise.
- You’re always looking for ways to improve how things work, and you follow through to make it happen.
- You have current or recent certifications like OSHA, MSHA, and First Aid—or you’re ready to get them.
- You’re fluent in construction tech, including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other project tools.
- You have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
What Sets You Apart
- You take ownership of tasks and outcomes.
- You ask “why” and look for patterns to improve how work is done.
- You believe planning is a leadership tool, not just a schedule.
- You invest in others and thrive in a culture of learning and accountability.
- You want to grow into a strategic leadership role and are ready to put in the work.
