Job description

Join to apply for the Construction Project Manager role at Tesla.

What To Expect
As a Construction Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with members of the Project Management, Infrastructure Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, and Plant Operations departments, from installation through the start of production. This role supervises all on-site construction activities, including scheduling trade contractors, vendor tool installations, resolving daily construction issues, performing inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and tracking project schedule and budget.

What You'll Do

  1. Develop project scopes for execution across Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Process, Life Safety, Civil, and Architectural work.
  2. Lead construction and startup systems, review designs for constructability, and resolve technical barriers efficiently.
  3. Monitor project costs and expenses, compare actuals against the budget, and identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  4. Track and review contractor invoices, create, manage, and update project schedules based on project documents, and report variances from baselines. Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is preferred.
  5. Ensure compliance with Contract Documents and Specifications, and coordinate with all project stakeholders including contractors, design/engineering, and QA/Commissioning teams.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial construction, project management, or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to problem solve, multitask, and prioritize project objectives effectively.
  • Experience managing projects in large manufacturing or industrial environments.
