We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of construction projects from planning and pre-construction through to completion and handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all project activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Projects may include a range of commercial, residential, infrastructure or refurbishment works, requiring a strong understanding of construction processes and effective stakeholder management.
Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules and risk registers; coordinating design teams, contractors, consultants and suppliers; and monitoring progress against agreed milestones. You will manage tendering and contract administration, review technical documentation, oversee site activities and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, building regulations, health and safety requirements and environmental standards. The role will also involve identifying and resolving issues, managing variations and change control, preparing progress reports, chairing project meetings and maintaining clear communication with clients and project stakeholders. You will be expected to promote a collaborative working environment and ensure that quality assurance and document control procedures are consistently followed.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing construction projects, ideally from inception to completion, along with a relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, project management or a related discipline. Professional accreditation or membership of an appropriate industry body is desirable. You will need strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with construction contracts, cost control, scheduling software and health and safety management is essential. A proactive, practical approach, strong attention to detail and the confidence to make sound decisions will be important. This role may require regular travel to project sites and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams at all levels.
