Job description

Help Build Airports

If you have a passion for aviation...we want to talk with you.

AvAirPros is a privately-held, employee-owned consulting and services firm. If you know and love airports and airlines - we have an exciting role for you. As a Construction Project Manager, you will be a key member of the Program Management Team at George Bush Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

What you’ll do:

As the Construction Project Manager, you will have a high degree of autonomy and the ability to supervise and coordinate design team consultants, owner vendors, and airport stakeholders. Critical to our success is your ability to manage complex project requirements within an operational environment. Serving as the Owner’s Representative, you will have the unique opportunity to understand the goals, objectives, and needs of airline, airport, and agency stakeholders and to represent these points of view during regular interaction with the Airline, A/E, Construction, and Airport teams. In this capacity, you’ll work in an office setting, in busy terminals, and on the construction site. Experience working in construction on large commercial projects is required--aviation strongly preferred...please and thank you.

Speaking of please…please be good at:
  • Collaboratively working with stakeholders to confirm the project is within scope, schedule, and budget, consulting on the proposed changes, and managing contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and invoices
  • Conducting regular site walkthroughs and communicating relevant information
  • Tracking and managing contractor progress and filing weekly progress reports
  • Updating the project file system and routine maintenance
  • Developing and coordinating the integration of schedules and budgets
  • Monitoring progress, providing financial control, and ensuring quality control of the project
  • Managing monthly level reporting and weekly status update reporting
  • Identifying and evaluating alternative solutions to best meet project goals
  • Overseeing the pre‑qualification and bid evaluation process for consultants, contractors, and other outside vendors
What you’ve done so far:
  • 10+ years of experience on large, complex aviation projects with an understanding of airside and landside programs
  • Worked collaboratively with clients, contractors, architects, and other industry professionals
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving
  • Mastered the art of building relationships and motivating teams
How you built the foundation:
  • BA/BS in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
